Culgar lost his soul to an avatar of Innoruuk while defending a Kerran village. During that fight a Kerran priest of Tunare was fatally wounded. Tunare decided to fuse the soul of the Kerran into the souless body of Culgar. The main drawback of this was the body was corrupted by the Avatar- making him not as 'pure' as he was... a Dark Ranger
